Apple has released their latest iOS update for public use. It is iOS 13; the thirteenth major update to the Apple mobile operating system. Just as usual, Apple has added introducing new features and lots of improvements to the system. Speaking of the compatibility of iOS 13, it is only compatible with iPhones and iPod touch because Apple has introduced a separate OS for iPads called “iPadOS”. All the later versions of iPhones and iPod touch are compatible with iOS 13 including the latest iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. If you wish to update to it, you can go to Settings > General > Software Update, and upgrade to iOS 13.
Dark Mode – Go all in on lights out
You can now have a dramatic new look for your iPhone or iPod touch with the Dark Mode. It makes every element on the screen look easier on your eyes, and is integrated all the way through the system seamlessly. It is simple to turn on from the Control Center, or you can set it to turn on at night automatically.
Photos and Camera
The Portrait Lighting Control lets you change the intensity of light in Portrait Lightning and creates the look you want. You can add an eye-catching monochromatic effect to your photos that are in Portrait mode with the High-Key Mono feature. You have an All-new Photos Tab that gives you a new curated view of your best moments. You can finely tune your photos with the redesigned editing tools’ ability to control adjustments and filter. You can use almost all the tools and effects you use on your photos on the videos as well. I.e. rotate, auto-enhance, and crop.
Privacy and Security
Now there is a simple way to sign in to websites and apps with good privacy. Your most personal data in the HomeKit Video is now more protected with the newly designed end-to-end encrypted system where iCloud is securely keeping your video. So only you can the invitees can view it. You can stay in more control of your data with the new location controls and transparency features. You have more protection from the people that want to track you without your permission.
Maps
You can now look around the cities with an immersive 3D experience. You can move seamlessly down the streets by panning around 360 degrees. The new map is the iOS 13 reveals more details about the places around you. You can create collections/ lists of local places that you want to visit on your next vacation and share them with the loved ones.
Siri
Siri’s new voice sounds incredibly natural with advanced neural text-to-speech technology. This is very useful when speaking longer phrases such as when answering knowledge questions and reading the news. With the built-in shortcuts app, Siri is now more attached with apps. The voices of the family members can be recognized by Siri using the HomePod. Siri can read your incoming messages aloud. You can now pair two sets of AirPods to the same iPhone and enjoy listening to the same song or watching the same movie with a friend.
Memoji and Messages
You can now make unique Memojis with new headwear, hairstyles, piercings, and makeup. The Momojis you create automatically become sticker packs on your keyboard. You can use the created stickers in Mail, Messages, and third-party apps. You can control the name, photo or Memoji that your friends see when you can contact them. With the QuickPath typing feature, you can type by swiping from one letter to the next.
Reminders
Reminders app is now more powerful with the powerful Siri intelligence, smart lists, and more. You can add dates, times, locations, photos, flags, and scanned documents to your Reminders by using the Quick Toolbar. Smart lists help you to organize your reminders automatically and group them by Today, Schedules and Flagged.
CarPlay
You can now have a simplified view of the road ahead with the all-new CarPlay Dashboard. While you are on the go, you can now view your whole day with the new Calendar app. You are just a tap away from getting directions and dialling into a meeting. In the new Apple Music app, you can see the album art of Music so that now you can easily find the perfect soundtrack for your road trip.
Performance
Performance of the iOS 13 is faster than the performance of iOS 12. For example, Face ID can now unlock up to 30 percent faster, you can launch apps up to 2x faster than before.
Augmented Reality
Virtual objects of AR apps can be naturally placed behind or in front of people for a more immersive experience.
